Kids Space
School Age Program
Kids Space School Age Program was established in 2022, created by the Community Partnership for Children's (CPC) Family Leadership Team (FLT) who identified a need for after-school, during school
breaks and summer childcare in Grant County.
For the past 3 years the program has been ran under a collaborative effort led by CPC and includes, The Town of Silver City, Silver Consolidated Schools, Western New Mexico University, the Southwest Council of Governments, Montoya Bussing and The Commons.
Each partner brings valuable resources, expertise, and vision to help ensure the success and sustainability of Kids Space.

The Kids Space Program 🌟 offers childcare enrollment for all families in Grant County, especially for working parents!
👩👧👦You can sign up in the Fall for the next school year and again in the Spring for our Summer Program. Remember, it's first come, first served! 🏃♀️🏃♂️
In Fall 2025, Kids Space will open more childcare spots at the Henry LaBarrera Recreation Center, giving us more room to help even more families in Silver City! 🎉 Our big dream to have Kids Space in many places, making a positive impact and providing a fun after program for everyone! 🌈 We’re super proud of what we’ve achieved since 2022, and this exciting journey is just beginning! 🚀

At Kids Space, we believe learning and fun go hand-in-hand! Our year-round program is designed to keep kids engaged, inspired, and supported every step of the way. Here's what your child can look forward to:
🔬 STEM Adventures
From building robots to hands-on science experiments, our STEM-based activities spark curiosity and encourage creative problem-solving in the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math.
📚 Homework Help & Learning Support
Need a little extra help with math problems or reading assignments? We've got it covered! Our caring team provides homework support to help kids stay on track and feel confident in the classroom.
🎨 Fun, Friends & Creativity
Whether it’s arts and crafts, games, or team-building activities, Kids Space offers a safe, supervised environment where kids can make friends, explore new interests, and just be themselves.
🚌 School Pick-Up Made Easy
We make afternoons stress-free for parents with convenient transportation! Kids are picked up directly from their Grant County school and brought to our program site at Western New Mexico University (WNMU) and at the Henry LaBarrera Recreation Center .
