This specialized training is designed for EMTs, paramedics, emergency department staff, nurses, physicians, firefighters, dispatch personnel, and law enforcement professionals who serve children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities.
Led by Dr. Sylvia Diehl, this interactive training focuses on practical strategies that improve communication, safety, and outcomes during emergency and high-stress situations. Participants will explore trauma-informed response practices, effective communication techniques, de-escalation strategies, and sensory-aware approaches that support successful interactions with autistic individuals during emergencies.
