Early Childhood Services in Grant County –

COVID-19 Updates as of 4/1/2020

Childhood Services Updates:

***Families of first responders, medical staff, and essential workers needing child care - Contact Local CYFD representative Vicente Castillo (575) 538-0259 to see if you qualify for childcare assistance under "at-risk" clause ***

Baby Boot Camp is open and accepting new children for parents who are continuing to work as essential workers. Contact BB at (575) 388-2620 for more information. 

Home Care Providers - Lil Ones is open. Keiki Care is open. Itsy Bitsy is open.  

Guadalupe Montessori School is closed but providing ‘Grab-and-Go’ lunches, 11:30-12:30 M-TR, lunch for Friday provided on Thursday. 

Beginning Years and Amplified Therapy conducting home "visits" completely online via Zoom, TeleHealth, and phone calls.  

Closed Centers: 

***If need arises, contact your provider or cpc.grantcounty.nm@gmail.com as some centers could reopen/provide services if needed*** 

Let the Children Come closed. 

Cobre School District PreK/Foy Day Care will be closed until April 6th, Foy Day Care may reopen if need arises.

WNMU Child Development Center & Growing Tree Infant/Toddler Program is closed and will reopen April 14.  

 

Calvary Christian Academy is closed as of March 25. 

 

El Grito Head Start is closed until at least April 6th. 

  

Center/Provider Important Information: 

From The New Mexico Early Childhood Development Partnership - On March 24, the Early Childhood Education and Care Department (ECECD) issued revised health and safety guidelines for use during the COVID-19 emergency. They are requesting that child care providers put these standards into practice right away. Please click here to see the new guidelines.

IF A CENTER IS NEEDING SUPPLIES go to http://www.newmexicokids.org/ to access complete form (list ONLY items needed), CYFD is tracking requests for supplies and meals, reviewing daily. Fingerprinting Clearance must involve surveyors.  

 

CYFD Licensing asked that programs keep them in the loop on closures, changing of space needs, as they are a resource and referral. Contact CYFD local representative at (575) 538-0259 with any changes in services. 

 

UNM ECSC continues online training availability through nmels.org

Food Access: 

  • Guadalupe Montessori School with 'grab-and-go' lunches M-TR, 11:30-12:30, Friday lunches available with Thursday pickup

  • Episcopal Church providing ‘grab-and-go’ meals Sixth Street location

  • Revel and Los Victors grab-and-go free lunch available for children

  • Harvest Church is serving evening meals at their location

  • Silver & Cobre Districts serving breakfast/lunch at school site locations
